With this tweet, Raut cleared the purpose of the meet and stated that he informed the Governor that all was well with the Uddhav Thackeray government.
Not very long ago, the firebrand leader of the Shiv Sena had accused the Governor of working at the behest of the BJP and turning the Governor House into a political adda. This was when the Governor didn’t heed to the government’s demand of sending Uddhav Thackeray to the legislative council through Governor’s quota.
The episode became the talk of the town that both the government and BJP leaders visited the Governor to present their case. The deadlock was ultimately resolved with EC conducting election to the earlier postponed elections to the council and Uddhav Thackeray entering the council unopposed.
Many MVA leaders in the recent past have been very vocal of the Governor’s role indicating that the Governor acted at the behest of the BJP.
Sources said that the meeting between Raut and the Governor had more to it than what’s seen in the picture. Speculations are rife since then that Raut also had a meeting with NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and CM Uddhav Thackeray.
